ABOUT US

The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, Inc. in Tulsa is a historic organization dedicated to empowering Black entrepreneurs and preserving the legacy of the Historic Greenwood District. History and Legacy Founded Roots: The chamber was organized in June 1926 to support social and economic growth in the Greenwood community. National Significance: It stands as the second oldest African American chamber of commerce in the country. Resilience: The group continues the spirit of the original "Black Wall Street," helping local businesses survive and rebuild after historic hardships like the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and urban renewal. Specialties and Services Business Advocacy: The organization promotes, advocates for, and supports minority-owned small businesses. Community Building: It works to connect a new generation of Black entrepreneurs with resources, mentorship, and economic partnerships.
